Townsville Library
Access
The Eddie Koiki Mabo Library in Townsville is wheelchair accessible via ramps to the right of the steps at both entrances. Access to the first and second floors is via the lift situated at the southern end of the ground floor.
Accessible parking is located near the side entrance via the car park at the rear of the library. Additional parking bays designated as disability are also available in the library car park.
Students with special needs may apply for a disability parking permit at Queensland Transport.
A Taxi rank is located adjacent to the Student Mall.
Library Facilities
- Wheelchair accessible toilets are located in the 24 hour Information Commons and adjacent to the rear stairs on the ground floor
- Study carrels and large tables are wheelchair accessible on all floors.
- Height adjustable desks are available
Cairns Library
Access
The Library in Cairns is wheelchair accessible. Access to the first and second floors is via the lift situated to the right of the entrance.
Six parking bays closest to the Library building are designated as disability parking. In addition, a designated drop off and pick up point with shelter from the elements is located adjacent to the Library.
A taxi rank is located outside of Building A1 (The Rock).
Library Facilities
- Wheelchair accessible toilets are located in the foyer of the main entrance and on the second floor
- The Library provides a number of wheelchair accessible computer workstations
- Height adjustable desks are available
Information and Research Assistance
InfoHelp is available on the ground floor of the Library to assist with:
- Locating information through the catalogue
- Collecting materials from shelves
- Use of referencing tools
Loans from other libraries
Books in audio or Braille formats can be borrowed from other libraries through Document Supply.

Information about opening hours and maps of the campuses and Library buildings are available online and from InfoHelp in Townsville and Cairns
