I investigate therapeutic interventions in novel clinically relevant pre-clinical models of abdominal aortic aneurysm and intermittent claudication. My research utilizes micro-vascular surgical techniques to model infrarenal aortic aneurysm and multi-stage surgical procedures to induce sustained hind limb ischemia and intermittent claudication in rodents, as well as in vitro cell culture studies to support and inform this work. Routine analytical techniques associated with this work include histology/IHC/IF, western blotting, magnetic bead assays, ELISA and RT-PCR.
