Subject Outline Generator Guide

Teaching Support Services will generate and upload the Subject Outline to your subject site.

The Subject Outline Generator (SOG) is designed to simplify and streamline the process of creating subject outlines by leveraging data from internal systems. Here’s a step-by-step guide.

FIRST: Review changes to the Subject Outline in 2025 and merge subjects before proceeding.

Getting Started

  1. Accessing the Tool:
    • Above, click the blue 'Subject Outline Generator' button.
    • Log in via Single Sign-On (SSO) (available to JCU staff only).
  2. Search for Your Subject:
    • Begin typing your subject code in the search bar, and results will populate automatically.
    • Note:
      • Merged subject offerings are marked with "(merged)" under the subject code.
      • Mixed subject codes in a single LearnJCU site must be downloaded individually.

Using the Tool

  1. Review Source Content:
    • Click the magnifying glass icon in the "Review" column to check:
      • General Details
      • Subject Details
      • Staff Details
      • Assessment Details
    • If any information is incorrect contact the Academic Services team.
    • If correct, tick Reviewed checkbox to confirm.
    • Once all checkboxes ticked, click the Download button

Final Steps

  1. Convert Word Document to PDF.
  2. Publish to subject site on LearnJCU.
