Brook Orr

Associate Director, Innovation

Brook Orr is the Associate Director, Innovation at James Cook University. Brook has led the development of the Universities Innovation Strategy which includes the Cairns, Townsville and Singapore campuses. She developed a diverse range of innovation initiatives and co-designed the JCU Ideas Lab programming and launch. Brook has represented JCU as Manager, International Relations and Recruitment across a broad range of international markets including Central and South America, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

Prior to joining JCU Brook worked in a variety of corporate management positions across Australia, Europe and North America.

Maren has a great passion for marketing, business operations, project management and community engagement.

With a studied background in marketing and international business, and 12 years experience owning, operating and managing businesses, Maren applies a wide pool of skills and knowledge to her role of overseeing the general innovation operations and program facilitation at the JCU Ideas Lab.
