AI for Smarter Clinical Documentation

CADSI researchers are developing and evaluating trustworthy AI methods to support clinical documentation and automated clinical coding. By evaluating large language models and machine learning approaches on real-world clinical records, while developing and applying advanced methodologies such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), clinical terminology classification, and other AI techniques, the team is improving the accuracy, consistency, and transparency of automated clinical coding. This research helps reduce administrative burden while supporting safer, more efficient healthcare and more reliable clinical decision support.
