What we provide

The group designs and provides training and short courses to health professionals, managers and leaders from various health sectors informed by competency gaps of the health service management workforce. The group also assess competency gaps and management development needs of managers in healthcare organisations and design training and courses tailor to the needs of the organisations.

Training is provided in the following models:

Six-week Overview Training Block

Purposes:

  • To introduce participants to specific management concepts and tools;
  • To enable participants in the application of management concepts and tools in real practice

Eight-week Guided Coaching Block

Purposes:

To improve participants’ capacity in solving real life management challenges and problems in a small group environment

Eight-week In-depth Training Block

Purposes:

  • To explore the Six-week Overview Training Block topics to greater depth;
  • To improve participants’ competence and confidence in management practices

Health service managements with good understanding of management concepts but lack in-depth understanding of translating them into real life practises

Management competency assessment

Purposes:

To provide evidence to guide formulation of strategies in developing management competency and improving management effectiveness of managers using the validated MCAP Tool1,2,3
