Role of Library Technologies Specialist

The Library Technologies Specialist leads the planning, implementation and evaluation of library-wide technology projects and initiatives, identifying and communicating key information and communication technologies (ICT) opportunities and emerging issues.  The incumbent ensures that the Library operates in a sophisticated ICT environment and is responsible for liaison with the University’s Technology Solutions Directorate staff responsible for local application, infrastructure and desktop support services.

The Library Technologies Specialist is a key contributor as part of the Library and Information Services (LIS) management team, in establishing and leading the Directorate’s strategic direction in library information management and discovery systems, overseeing the information architecture and maintenance of the Library website and LIS staff intranet.
