Location: Eddie Koiki Mabo Library, JCU Townsville, Bebegu Yumba Campus, Douglas
Availability
During normal University opening hours, the Information Commons is a 24/7 computer lab. The room is closed during the Christmas campus closure, and during IT maintenance windows.

Access
During Library building opening hours you can access the space via the Library's internal foyer.
You can access the space via the external door (North-East entry) 24/7 using your swipe card. Students are required to swipe their JCU student card to both enter and exit the Information Commons after hours. Swipe card access issues should be referred to the following email address: securityaccess@jcu.edu.au and include the Student ID number and card expiry date.
After hours, this space is only available to JCU students and staff. Please ensure you have your ID card available to show security.
IT Equipment
- 24 Windows PCs
- 4 Apple iMacs
- Powered tables and seating areas to use your own devices with the JCU Wi-Fi
Printing Facilities
- CopyPrint pay station for adding funds to your printing account using cash or card (you can also add funds to your account using PaperCut)
- 2 Multi-Function Devices for:
- B&W or Colour printing or copying (requires funds on your CopyPrint account)
- Scanning (although scanning is free, you will need enough credit on your account to print at least one page in order to scan – see current printing costs here)

- Mobile whiteboards (whiteboard markers can be borrowed from the library during opening hours)
- Access to iLearning B and A (group study spaces)
- Access to iLearning C (silent study space)
- Male, Female and gender-neutral Accessible toilets
- Community notice boards located near printers and kitchenette
- Free secure lockers are available for a five-hour period. The lockers contain a power supply for recharging your mobile devices. Contact security for access issues.

- Vending machines for snacks and beverages
- External kitchenette available with hot water and microwaves
