What is Pre-Completion?

The Pre-Completion Evaluation (PCE) is a major assessment that higher degree by research candidates at JCU undergo before submitting your final thesis for examination. The PCE serves as a check-in point to ensure that your thesis is of a suitable standard for examination.

For the PCE, you will need to complete the PCE Evaluation Form, and also present your research findings via a seminar using the PCE Presentation Template. You will also need to submit a draft full thesis for review by your advisory panel and candidature committee.

The candidature committee will assess your work and provide constructive feedback to improve your thesis before you submit it for examination. It helps ensure that you are on track to complete your thesis and that you work meets the expected standards of quality and originality.
