The HDR Student Poster Showcase is part of the JCU Research Festival and provides an opportunity for Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates to share their research with the JCU community. The poster presentations will be held on August 10th, 2026.
Whether your project is just beginning or well underway, we encourage you to participate. The showcase is a chance to communicate your research, receive feedback, and celebrate the breadth of HDR research across both campuses.
The poster showcase is open to all current JCU HDR candidates who have not yet graduated.
Individual and team poster submissions are welcome.
There will be a people’s choice award and poster awards given by judges attending the event and listening to your elevator pitch.
Award winners will be announced and prizes presented during the Research Festival 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) event.
To submit an Expression of Interest, you will need:
- A poster title
- A summary of your poster (2–3 sentences)
Expression of Interest deadline: Currently Closed for 2026.
If you are interested in participating, please complete the Expression of Interest form below:
Expression Of Interest for Research Exhibition – Fill out form
Your poster should aim to communicate your research clearly and visually. It should provide an engaging summary of your project, highlighting its significance and some key findings or expected outcomes.
Keep the text concise and use figures, diagrams, images, maps, or other visuals whenever possible to help tell the story of your research.
Make sure the font is large enough to read while standing ~1m away. Choose colors that provide good contrast and avoid cluttering the page. Include captions for figures and acknowledge image sources where required.
Posters will be assessed on the clarity of the research message, the visual presentation and overall design, the scientific content, and the ability to communicate your research to a broad university audience.
