New Domestic Candidates: Indicate that you would like be considered for a HDR scholarship in the candidature application. A separate application is not required. 2027 scholarship applications are now open.

Citizenship: Australia, New Zealand, Australian Permanent Residency
Applications: Apply and commence any time
Inclusions: Living allowance stipend $36,500 pa in 2026, tuition fees.
Duration: 3.5 years for PhD, 2 years for MPhil
Exclusions: Relocation expenses, Student Services and Amenities Fee.
Citizenship: Australia, New Zealand, Australian Permanent Residency, must identify as Australian Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander

Inclusions: Living allowance stipend $53,608 pa in 2026 + one off $10,000 for project expenses, tuition fees
Duration: 3.5 years for PhD only
Exclusions: Relocation expenses, Student Services and Amenities Fee.
Citizenship: Australia, New Zealand, Australian Permanent Residency
Inclusions: Living allowance stipend $36,500 pa in 2026 + $7,500 pa as living allowance stipend or project expenses, tuition fees.
Duration: 3.5 years for PhD, 2 years for MPhil
