First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificates

Students must complete nationally accredited Australian first aid and CPR training through a registered training organisation.

• First aid: Provide First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011), including the CPR component. Valid for three years.
• CPR renewal: Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001 or HLTAID009). Valid for one year.
• Training requirements: Attend in person. Online courses and certificates issued by Queensland Health facilities or other non-accredited providers are not accepted.
• Submission: Provide a copy of your certificate to the Professional Experience Placement Unit and retain a copy in your professional portfolio.
• Registered health practitioners: You may be exempt from the first aid certificate if you provide current AHPRA registration. A valid CPR certificate from a registered training organisation is still required each year.
• Costs: Students are responsible for all training costs.
