Residual Current Device (RCD) Testing

Estate Directorate maintenance scheduling is to perform regular statutory work on its power distributions and low voltage infrastructure.  This comprises of low voltage circuits on a Residual Current Device (RCD).

For planned power outages with relation to RCD Testing it is legally required for James Cook University to complete the statutory tests twice per year.  This is stipulated by the Electrical Safety Regulations 2013 Section 110, in accordance with testing intervals outlined in AS/NZS 3760-2010.

Regular and controlled maintenance scheduling is a necessary part of any maintenance safety program to help ensure the safety of persons using electrical equipment in the workplace.
