Dr Kirstie Broadfield

My background is an undergraduate degree in Indigenous Australian Studies, followed by honours in Anthropology/Indigenous Studies for which I received the 2017 University Media. My PhD research, Black Lives Matter: The Violence of Indigenous Incarceration, investigated the violence experienced by Indigenous Australians in the criminal justice system through the lens of necropolitics.  My interests lie in decolonising research, sociology, criminology, mental health, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation that impact the lives of Indigenous Australians.
