IERC's Decade of Excellence: Honouring 10 Years of Building Capability, Strengthening Capacity, and Empowering Indigenous Futures
750 Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island graduates with 1,171 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees
Between 2016 and 2025, 750 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students graduated from JCU with a total of 1,171 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. During this time, Indigenous students’ average subject pass rate increased from 64.2 per cent to 82.4 per cent, reflecting the impact of a more connected and student-centred approach to higher education.
Behind these outcomes are thousands of individual student journeys — students building confidence, developing knowledge and capability, completing degrees, and returning to their communities, professions, and industries with the skills to help shape the future on their own terms.
