Summary of Project

Low-cycle fatigue tests under strain-controlled and stress-controlled conditions. Study the notch effect for different geometric discontinuities and loading histories. Develop a numerical elastic-plastic model to estimate the stress and strain fields at the notch region. Predict the fatigue life using fatigue parameters determined at CA for strain-controlled conditions. Develop a mixed numerical-experimental model to predict the fatigue life.

Key Words

Notch effect; low cycle fatigue ; variable amplitude; constant amplitude
