Summary of Project

Obesity is now a pressing problem in our society. The successful applicant will use genetic knock-out mice to model liver cancer. He/she will learn to perform histology, western blots, genetic analyses and undertake three-dimensional cultures of liver tumour cells. Additionally studies will include the use of expression vectors and quantitative PCR, and patient materials to translate our findings into the clinic.  This is a very translational project.
