Summary of Project

Obesity is now a pressing problem in our society. The successful applicant will use genetic knock-out mice to model intestinal colitis. He/she will learn to perform histology, western blots, genetic analyses and undertake three-dimensional cultures of primary murine colon cells. Additionally studies will include the use of expression vectors and quantitative PCR, and  patient materials to translate our findings into the clinic.  This is a very translational project.
