Summary of Project

This project would examine the applicability of non-invasive measurements of vascular function to identify cardiovascular risk in a range of populations. Use of these novel tools and measurements may identify greater cardiovascular risk earlier than standard assessment tools. Further, these tools may assist in the monitoring of cardiovascular risk during lifestyle interventions (e.g. aerobic and/or resistance exercise). A greater understanding of the physiological mechanisms for these lifestyle-induced changes in vascular function would assist in optimising therapies for improved cardiovascular health.
