eGRS

eGRS is a Plone-based secure online data storage facility that enables students and their advisors to:

  • Upload draft thesis chapters, documents, data and photos, etc. that are related to a research degree or program;

  • Share information with specific people;

  • View and extensive collection of information about writing theses, research skills and working with advisors (see folder ‘Postgraduate Essentials’);

  • Download materials made available by workshop presenters. In many cases, recordings of the presentations will also be made available for viewing at a later date;

  • Download material presented at the GRS Induction Days for newly commenced research higher degree candidates.

Access to eGRS is automatic once the student’s JCU computer and email account has been activated. The eGRS log-in area is located in the top, right-hand corner of the eGRS homepage. Each student is granted their own private folder for data storage, however will also have access to protected content provided by the Graduate Research School that is specific to research higher degree candidature at JCU.

Career Hub Online Event Registration and e-Portfolio Management System

The Graduate Research School uses the University’s Career Hub database for event and training program registration management.

HDR candidates are tasked with self-managing their own event and training registrations. Access to Career Hub is automatic once a student’s JCU computer and email account has been activated. Visit the Career Hub homepage to log in.

HDR candidates must register to attend the training and professional development workshops provided by the GRS throughout the year. Registration will ensure a place is available and enables the GRS to contact participants should changes to workshop timing, dates or venues be required.

GRS Facebook Updates

The GRS Facebook page provides a quick and easy way to share information and keep up to date with what is happening at the GRS. Access to the GRS Facebook page does not require the user to be a Facebook member.
