Confirmation of Candidature Review
Confirmation of Candidature (CoC) should occur between 6 and 12 months for full-time candidates (or 12 and 24 months for part-time candidates).
Mid-Candidature Review
Mid-candidature should occur at the 2-year full-time or (4 year part-time equivalent) of your candidature.
Pre-Completion Review
Pre-Completion should occur 3 months (FTE) before your expected thesis submission.
Milestones FAQ's
- Earlier is better. Three to four weeks minimum
- Students should ideally allow 2-3 weeks for advisors and committee members to organise their availability.
- MPhil candidates generally have a six-month milestone expectation.
- PhD candidates should generally aim for completion within 6-9 months full-time equivalent.
- Newer PhD candidates may have a due date extending to 12 months.
- Go to Forms → Responses.
- Status indicators include:
- Draft = not submitted.
- In Progress = being processed.
- Completed = workflow finished.
- Students can also download forms and use filters to locate submissions
- No. Students do not complete the Mid-Candidature evaluation form.
- This is now completed by the Primary Advisor.
- Students can access completed training through Skills JCU.
- Recent module attendance records take time to process. If completion records have not flowed into Skills JCU, students should contact GRS.
- If records appear incorrect, students should contact GRS for assistance.
Yes. The PDAP is mandatory for both PhD and MPhil candidates as part of the Confirmation of Candidature requirements.
