Milestones FAQ's

  • Earlier is better. Three to four weeks minimum
  • Students should ideally allow 2-3 weeks for advisors and committee members to organise their availability.
  • MPhil candidates generally have a six-month milestone expectation.
  • PhD candidates should generally aim for completion within 6-9 months full-time equivalent.
  • Newer PhD candidates may have a due date extending to 12 months.
  • Go to Forms → Responses.
  • Status indicators include:
    • Draft = not submitted.
    • In Progress = being processed.
    • Completed = workflow finished.
  • Students can also download forms and use filters to locate submissions
  • No. Students do not complete the Mid-Candidature evaluation form.
  • This is now completed by the Primary Advisor.
  • Students can access completed training through Skills JCU.
  • Recent module attendance records take time to process. If completion records have not flowed into Skills JCU, students should contact GRS.
  • If records appear incorrect, students should contact GRS for assistance.

Yes. The PDAP is mandatory for both PhD and MPhil candidates as part of the Confirmation of Candidature requirements.
