Summary of Project

As a result of the rapid expansion of digital learnscapes, cyberbullying could become a serious issue for higher education institutions. Potential damage can be done to an individual’s reputation, career prospects and sense of self-worth. In addition, issues of cybersafety, digital citizenship, and digital reputation are effecting adults. Yet, in higher education institutions, and in community settings outside workplaces, policies and educational resources for adults are still in the early stages of development. This project involves working with JCU students, staff and key stakeholders to survey and develop best-practice policies and educational resources for adults. The project uses a student- and community-led action research approach to addressing issues of ethical online communication and agency.
