The activities in this collection have been designed to help families explore the concepts children are learning at school through conversation, inquiry and shared experience.
Learning develops over time. As children revisit ideas, make connections and encounter concepts in different contexts, their understanding deepens and their confidence grows.
Use these activities as a guide for exploring ideas together. Start wherever interests your child, connect with their learning at school, and return whenever you're looking for a new way to engage with a concept.
Activities
🧪 Science Activities: Prep to Year 10
In both primary and high school children learn about the world around them – living things, materials, forces, the Earth and Space – while developing their curiosity and learning how to ask questions, investigate, solve problems and use evidence to explain what they discover. These activities build on the concepts children are learning at school through observation, investigation and discovery.
Choose your child's year level to start exploring. Year 7 – 10 coming soon
🧮 Mathematics Activities: Prep to Year 10
Mathematics is one of the ways we answer questions. It helps us recognise patterns, understand relationships, solve problems and think carefully about the decisions we make.
The activities in this section build on the concepts children are learning at school and provide opportunities to deepen understanding through exploration, discussion and practical application.
Choose a year level to start exploring:
- Addition and Subtraction (Prep to Year 6 Mathematics)

Keep Exploring Together
Why does learning beyond school matter?
Children spend only part of their day at school. Learning continues through the conversations, experiences and relationships that shape everyday life.
This guide shares practical ways families can build on the strengths, knowledge and experiences they already bring. From telling stories and asking questions to cooking, shopping and solving everyday problems together, it explores how learning can be supported through the things families already do.
At its heart, the guide is about helping families recognise the important role they play in growing children's confidence, capability and engagement with learning.
