About | This course provides participants the knowledge and resources to enable the identification of the different classes of fire and the correct extinguishers to use. |
Audience | All staff |
PPE | Participants to wear long pants and closed in shoes |
Prerequisites | Completion of online First Response Training Completion of Fire Warden Training – if a JCU Fire Warden |
Objective | The objective is to provide the JCU community with greater awareness of fire safety and its prevention in the workplace. |
Content | Participants will learn basic fire safety Classes of fire Different types of extinguisher and their use Method of using a fire extinguisher – hands on. Method of using hose reel & blanket. Every participant will have the opportunity to use an extinguisher on a safe and controlled gas fire. |
