Ioana Bowden

My name is Ioana Bowden, and I am part of the Student Success team at James Cook University. I have a bachelor’s degree in science, as well as Master and PhD degrees, I understand the challenges of balancing study, work, and family life. Also, with English as a second language, I am aware of the additional difficulties faced by international students. I have extensive experience in teaching across multiple Colleges at JCU which provided me the opportunity to work with students from a wide range of backgrounds. This also served to develop my interest in offering guidance and support to students, with a focus on wellbeing and success. I look forward to assisting you throughout your student journey, by providing access to resources and services and to help you complete your studies successfully. Prior to joining the Student Success team at JCU, I worked for Education Queensland as a Teacher Aide for 4 years and in School Administration for 6 years. Jackson McNee

Hi, I’m Jackson, and I’m part of the Student Success Team at James Cook University. I’m based in Townsville and support Nursing and Midwifery students. I’ve studied Psychology at the University of Canberra and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management here at JCU. Before joining the team, I worked as a behavioural therapist and environmental conservation research assistant, and I also volunteered as a Crisis Support Officer with Lifeline. Having recently been a student myself, I have a deep appreciation for the challenges students face.
