Return to study (Variation to Study)

If you previously discontinued your study with JCU, and would like to recommence, you may apply to return to study.

International student are not approved to return to study, they are required to re-apply through the Application to study at JCU form. If your course, major/minor/teaching area/specialisation are in teach out or not available please contact your Divisional Enrolment Team.

Return to study applications are not accepted for the following courses:

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science
  • Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery

Credit may not be approved:

  • if you change major/minors/teaching area/specialisation
  • if you return to a new version of the course and credit does not meet the degree rules as per the Course and Subject Handbook
  • if Articulation Agreement is no longer valid under the new course version

Students may be required to undertake additional work to demonstrate current competencies or current course requirements

If you wish to return to the same course of study, complete the Variation to Study application.

If you have completed study at another tertiary institution since discontinuing at JCU and are seeking credit towards your course please complete an Application for credit.

Closing dates for applications are listed under Important Dates.

We will email your JCU student account with an outcome within 20 University working days of receipt of application.

If you are unsuccessful, you will receive an email informing you of your options.
