There are general health facilities on or near the Townsville, Cairns and Brisbane campuses.
For most health services you need to make an appointment and some services charge a cancellation fee if you miss your appointment. For specialist services, you will need to bring a referral from a general practitioner (GP).

JCU Health Services
A medical centre for JCU students and Townsville residents, JCU Health General Practice is located on level one of the Clinical Practice Building on the JCU Douglas campus. JCU students with a Medicare card and student card will be bulk billed for the appointment. International students with OSHC insurance with Allianz Global or Medibank will have their invoices sent directly to their insurer.

JCU Dental is located on the second floor of the Clinical Practice Building. General dental services are performed by supervised, senior JCU dental students. There is no charge for patients with a health care card. Appointments are necessary.

Well Women’s Clinic (on campus)
In association with Queensland Health, this is a free service available on campus one day each month with trained women’s health nurses offering a range of women’s health checks and referrals.

True Relationships & Reproductive Health
Formerly known as Family Planning Queensland. The service has expert reproductive and sexual health clinicians offering advice and services on contraception, sexual health screens, cervical screening tests, menopause, menstrual concerns, complex gynaecology, antenatal, pregnancy and postnatal. Beyond Blue is a support organisation that helps people with depression and anxiety.
A service designed specifically for Australian university students, The Desk assists students in achieving mental and physical health and wellbeing.
SANE Australia provides detailed information about mental health issues.
A support service specifically for young people, Headspace aims to help people with their mental health and wellbeing.
Black Dog Institute provides mental health support, specifically for those with depression or bipolar disorders.
Mensline provides telephone and online support for men experiencing relationship problems.
Reach Out is an online mental health services for young people.
