About The Centre for Education and Enhancement

The Centre for Education and Enhancement is the gateway to the services and resources that support best practice in learning and teaching to ensure our students have the best possible learning experiences.

The Centre manages these resources, services and initiatives in accordance with the University's Learning and Teaching strategic objectives, and supports teaching excellence and innovation in higher education.

The Directorate supports strategic activities in learning, teaching and student engagement, including:

The Directorate delivers a number of University-wide projects and programs that support academic staff, and support for teaching and learning grant and award applicants.

The Directorate sits within the Education Division. While Directorate staff are located on the Townsville and Cairns campuses, they also provide support for staff and students in study centres at Thursday Island, Mount Isa and Mackay, and for external students.

JCU corporate and strategic documents that direct Learning, Teaching and Student Engagement:

In July 2015 the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) and James Cook University (JCU) commenced a three year twinning project, funded by the Australian Government. The Project is linked to a MOU between the two universities and is aimed at building teaching capacity and supporting collaborative research capability in Australia, Papua New Guinea and the broader Asia Pacific region.
