JCU students should refer to the YourJCU Survey information in the Students website.
As part of JCU's commitment to improving the quality of subjects and teaching, we regularly seek feedback from students on their learning and teaching experiences.
The YourJCU survey suite consists of three surveys, all designed with different intent, that are deployed to enrolled students* throughout the course of a study period.
YourJCU Surveys are deployed through the Qualtrics platform, are easy to use, secure, centralised and provide an avenue for students to share confidential feedback. The surveys also provide staff and supervisors with reporting options to assist fast and effective review, reflection and revision of learning and teaching materials and methodologies, in line with professional development, discipline standards and institutional strategic goals.
*enrolled at the time of data extraction and preparation
YourJCU Survey Suite
Strategically scheduled to deploy to students prior to census date to collect feedback of early experiences within a subject. Questions are focused on determining if students are well navigated in the subject outline, requirements of assessment and that they feel confident to engage in learning.
Deployed to students towards the end of a study period with the intent to collect feedback on learning experiences within a subject.
The closing date for Subject surveys is set to five days after the end date of a study period. The exception to this business rule is where there is a shorter number of days between the end of a study period and the publication of subject results. Student surveys will always close before the publication of subject results.
Deployed to students with the same schedule as subject surveys. The survey intends to capture feedback of a student's experiences of teaching within a subject.
The closing date for Teaching surveys is set to five days after the end date of a study period. The exception to this business rule is where there is a shorter number of days between the end of a study period and the publication of subject results. Student surveys will always close before the publication of subject results.
NOTE: Teaching staff must complete opt-in for a teaching survey to be deployed.
