Current Students Enrolment Outbound Cross Institutional Study

Outbound Cross Institutional Study

During your time at JCU you may need to undertake Outbound Cross Institutional Study. This allows students to undertake a subject at another institution and have the credit count towards their course at JCU.

Cross Institutional Study is normally permitted only in extenuating circumstances. It is not intended that Cross Institutional Study be undertaken routinely or where alternative study options at JCU are available.

International students will be subject to all specific visa and/or scholarship conditions.

If you are studying at JCU Brisbane or JCU Singapore, please contact your respective Enrolment Teams to discuss Cross Institutional Study.

Steps to apply

Before completing a form, check if you meet the eligibility criteria:

  • You have completed at least 24 credit points of your course at JCU where your course requires equal to, or more than 72 credit points to complete; or
  • You have completed at least 12 credit points of your course at JCU where that course requires less than 72 credit points to complete.

We will endeavour to email your JCU student account with an outcome within 20 University working days of receipt of a complete application. Some application outcomes may take longer.

We recommend you read the Outbound Mobility Procedure which includes further information around the eligibility, assessment and outcomes of an application. In particular please note:

  • The maximum amount of Outbound Cross Institutional Study is subject to the allowable credit for a course.
  • You are responsible for applying to the other institution for admission and for providing JCU with the evidence of the University's approval for cross-institutional study.
  • Please ensure you allow time for processing when submitting your application.
