Changes to the management of University policy


A new management system for the University's policy environment is now in place. These changes represent best practice, as identified by the JCU Future Taskforce Policy and Delegations Framework Project, following a sector scan of Australian universities and consultation with the Association for Tertiary Education Management’s policy network.

The Policy Handbook provides all templates and planning documents required to write good policy, and contains the following:

- Policy Framework - delivers senior management accountability for each domain of the University Plan
- Policy Development and Review Policy - defines new principles and definitions for policy/procedure
- Policy Lifecycle - outlines the procedures required to develop, approve, review, communicate and disestablish policy
