Stems erect to 2 m tall. Leaves alternate, 3-veined at base, margins serrate. Flowers in clusters of 1-3, petals 5 yellow, 6-7 mm long. Fruit a capsule 3-8 cm long, 5-6 valves, 10-12 ribs. Leaves can be eaten.
