Description

These brightly coloured birds are usually observed on campus wrecking flowers of eucalypts (Corymbia and Eucalyptus), paperbarks (Melaleuca) and umbrella trees (Schefflera) as they search for nectar. Frequently found in groups, they seem to be constantly chattering and screeching. Legs and feet are grey-brown, eyes are red and the bill is orange. Bird is photographed on Xanthostemon chrysanthus (Yellow penda)
