Description

This fungus is one of the wood decaying fungi and it is also referred to as a white rot fungus. It is found growing on dead wood. The fruiting body is extremely tough with a well-developed stout central stalk, there are lamellate gills on lower surface. There may be a fleshy collar at the base, it gets lost with age. Margins of cap rolled under when old and dry as in photo.
