Description

The larvae of this species are usually not attended by ants. Larvae feed on species of Tribulus (Goat’s head burrs), particularly Tribulus cistoides and Tribulus terrestris also known as Goat’s head burrs. Mature larvae green with a paler green line and short dense hairs. Adults are purplish-lilac with dull brown margins; lower surface grey with a series of brown-black spots, brown margins broader in the female.
