Description

This large lizard is found in a variety of habitats where it forages on a variety of insects, flowers and fruits. Sleeps in hollow logs and amongst debris. It has a broad fat body, variable in colour but chiefly silvery-grey to brown with irregular darker bands, belly is paler. Slow moving, when cornered they hiss and display the large flat blue-tongue characteristic of the genus
