Description

Seen in the area during the wet season when the larvae feed on native yam vines (Dioscorea spp.). Larvae build tent shelters by joining leaf material with silk. Mature larvae to 26 mm long, body green with white spots, head black. Adults have a very distinctive flashy flight and alight on the undersurface of leaves; fore wing dark brown plus some white spots, hind wing extensive areas of white, 2 brown spots near apex.
