Description

This small insectivorous bat has a jet black back and head which contrasts with the white to yellow belly fur, it has a short tail; males have a prominent throat pouch absent in the females. There is no wing pouch. It is found in many habitats usually flying above the canopy. Usually few in a colony, roots in burrow, in cracks in the soil and under rock slabs.
