Description

This dragonfly belongs to the subfamily commonly known as the Darters. The abdomen in the males is a rich blue and the thorax and head is black, the females are brown to orange. Similar to the Blue skimmer but there is a black line along the broader abdomen. Like the others usually found perched near water, ready to fly out and catch insects.
