Description

Small tree with glossy dark green opposite leaves to 9.5 x 3.2 cm; the twigs are 4-angled and there are usually wings present, these run down the stem from the petiole to the next node and form a pocket just above the lower pair of leaves. Flowers white, fruit fleshy, more or less globular or ellipsoid to 2.3 x 1.7 cm, deep pink to reddish, calyx lobes persistent near the apex.
