Description

This tree is easily distinguished by the bipinnate leaves with numerous small leaflets, corky bark, and spines usually present towards the base on the trunk. Flowers are pale yellow in heads or balls, pods to 6 cm long, about 1 cm wide flattened. This species is also known as Acacia bidwillii. However, as a result of the last Botanical Congress the official generic name is Vachellia.
