Description

This tree is found along creeks from south of Cardwell northward. It bears large clusters of yellow flowers with numerous stamens, once or twice a year. Fruits are woody capsules to 1.5 cm diameter, calyx is persistent. The new foliage is initially coppery-coloured but matures to a dark green, old senescent leaves are red. The leaves, which tend to be clustered towards the ends of the branches are simple to about 12 cm long and 3.5 cm wide, oil dots are present.
