Description

The name Scleroderma refers to the hard skin surrounding the spore mass. The fruiting body is globose to slightly flattened 6-10 cm diameter. Outer surface yellow to yellow-brown with markings resembling scales. Cracks open irregularly to reveal dull brown spores. Attached to the ground by a firm stalk. Poisonous.
