Distinguishing features

Young stems strongly 4-angled. Leaves opposite, firm, to 16 x 6.5 cm, lateral veins prominent, numerous oil glands present. Flowers in groups of 1-3, petals white, stamens numerous, to 1 cm long. Ovary inferior, fruit 4-7 cm diameter, yellow, calyx lobes persistent.
