Description

This shrub has alternate, simple leaves variable from 2-7 cm long and 2-8 mm wide, usually narrowly obovate. The subrhytidome layer of the bark is bright orange, best seen on the base of the trunk. Flowers borne in axillary racemes, corolla white, petals free. Fruit a 2-valved capsule, 4-5 mm diameter, splits to reveal the brown seeds partially enclosed in an aril
