Description

This native species is usually found as a small spreading tree. It has been misidentified in the past as Pittosporum venulosum. Leaves tend to be clustered at the ends of twigs, obovate to about 10 cm long, hairs present on twigs. Flowers with petals 5, free, cream about 6 mm long. Fruit a capsule, 2-valved, yellow to orange, splits open to reveal several red sticky seeds. Stood up to cyclone ‘Yasi ‘but lost all leaves.
