Description

This native shrub, previously known as Macrostelia grandifolia subsp . macilwraithensis, is planted near E1. It has rough textured leaves which are shortly petiolate to 17 x 4 cm, base is cordate to weakly hastate. Flowering pedicel to 4 cm long, flowers to 3 cm diameter, epicalyx with 6-7 free segments, calyx with 5 segments, clasping the base of the white petals which are overlapping each other, the numerous stamens rotate out from a central column; the 5 stigmas are white. Capsule bears stellate hairs.
