Description

A solitary, fan-leafed palm commonly found from the Innisfail area to the tip of Cape York and into southern New Guinea, the trunk is clothed by the remains of the old leaves. Leaves form a dense crown, petiole to 1 m long, curved thorns present, blade usually less than 1 m long. Fruit blue to black to 0.6 cm diameter.
