Burseraceae

Bursera was named after Joachim Burser (1583-1649) a German physician and botanist. Trees or shrubs with resin canals present in most parts of the plant. Leaves alternate, compound, imparipinnate, leaflets opposite. Inflorescence a panicle; flowers 3-5-merous with distinct calyx and corolla. Stamens equal to or twice the number of petals. If flowers are unisexual then staminodes are present in the female flowers. Fruit is an edible drupe.
