An annual grass with erect or decumbent stems, leaf blades flat to 30 cm long, distinguished from the other species of Chloris by the basal sheaths being paler than the blade. Inflorescence of 4-12 digitate spikes, silky hairy; spikelets crowded, white to yellowish-brown.
